Oh No! Not Again!

Oh No! Not Again! It happened again last night.

Last night I watched a pretty boring episode of American Idol. Dolly Parton was giving the contestants advice and they had to sing one of her many songs--who knew she was such a prolific songwriter?

At the end of the performance by cutie-pie David Archuleta, I briefly spotted Michael Khors in the audience.

Now, this might be something to be proud of, if I recognized him because I am so knowledgeable about the fashion industry that I recognize designers by face. . .

It might even have been okay if I recognized him because he designed these fun shoes---a de-hoochified take on the classic stripper plastic platform shoe that I pair with my very favorite apple green J-Crew cardigan.

But no. . .

I recognized him because he is a regular judge on Project Runway. I am such a reality-TV viewing nerd with a particularly weak spot for all things Bravo!

Reality Star Surprise Cameos???

So I have officially crossed the line from casual reality TV show viewer to creepy reality TV viewer. How do I know that I have crossed this thin line, you ask? It hit me like a thunderbolt when I was watching back-to-back episodes of the Hills last night.

There I was, watching Whitney in all her "styling" glory at Fashion Week in Bryant Park when I suddenly spot "Bronnie" in the audience of the Sass & Bide fashion show.

I quickly stopped and rewound my DVR, thinking, "Wait. . . Was that?. . ." And sure enough, there they were! Ronnie, Perry, Shannon, Ben and Katy were all sitting together in the audience!

That was too weird. How did the characters of two of my favorite reality shows cross paths so unexpectedly and without any fanfair? How did I even notice that? And why in the world do I care?

Reunion Shows

Ok. What is the deal with "reunion shows?" These are really starting to piss me off. I watch my reality shows religiously----counting down the weeks as they pick people off one by one looking forward to the big pay off when they announce who the supreme champion is.

Lately, however, many of the money grubbing execs that put out these cash cows have inserted at least one episode into the countdown that doesn't reward me with crap. Nobody gets kicked off. Nobody wins. And I have to wait TWO WEEKS instead of one to find out who won----it just all around sucks.

I know why they do it. 1. It costs them nothing to do. 2. It prolongs the show by another week for practically free. 3. All the idiots like me who are glued to their tubes waiting for the finale are going to watch it because we have no choice. It just really ticks me off. Reunion shows should take place AFTER the big finale so we can ignore them and not watch them unless we are just so super into the people that were on the show that we just cannot get enough of them.

That said, I watched the reunion episode of Make me a Supermodel last night and it was not that bad. The only thing that annoyed me was that Tyson Beckford had the nerve to say that he thinks the reason why all the girls kept getting voted off instead of all the guys is due to his "mentorship." What a bunch of crap. You cannot tell me that Tyson is not aware of the demographics for a Bravo show about a bunch of hot guys and girls who want to become models. It is pretty obvious why the girls kept getting voted off instead of the hot guys. . . .

Phew! I feel a little better now. . .
