Reunion Shows

Ok. What is the deal with "reunion shows?" These are really starting to piss me off. I watch my reality shows religiously----counting down the weeks as they pick people off one by one looking forward to the big pay off when they announce who the supreme champion is.

Lately, however, many of the money grubbing execs that put out these cash cows have inserted at least one episode into the countdown that doesn't reward me with crap. Nobody gets kicked off. Nobody wins. And I have to wait TWO WEEKS instead of one to find out who won----it just all around sucks.

I know why they do it. 1. It costs them nothing to do. 2. It prolongs the show by another week for practically free. 3. All the idiots like me who are glued to their tubes waiting for the finale are going to watch it because we have no choice. It just really ticks me off. Reunion shows should take place AFTER the big finale so we can ignore them and not watch them unless we are just so super into the people that were on the show that we just cannot get enough of them.

That said, I watched the reunion episode of Make me a Supermodel last night and it was not that bad. The only thing that annoyed me was that Tyson Beckford had the nerve to say that he thinks the reason why all the girls kept getting voted off instead of all the guys is due to his "mentorship." What a bunch of crap. You cannot tell me that Tyson is not aware of the demographics for a Bravo show about a bunch of hot guys and girls who want to become models. It is pretty obvious why the girls kept getting voted off instead of the hot guys. . . .

Phew! I feel a little better now. . .

How many nickels does a banana cream pie cost?

What is a previously "glam" girl supposed to do when she is no longer feeling very glam at 6 months pregnant and is mildly bored after being cooped up for five days on "bed rest?" Nag and annoy her sweet and loving hubby when he gets home from work of course!!!

So it all started when he asked me to leave my confinement in bed for a little excursion out to the couch in the living room to hang out with him. Woo Hoo! Supervised released. . .

I started trying to find something interesting to watch on TV by looking through the programs recorded on his DVR. This started us down our nightly routine of me complaining about our DVR and him getting annoyed by it. . .

The history is this: My hubby and I both had Direct TV before we got married, but I, having been a customer for so many years, had this great deal that is no longer offered: I have a Direct TV/TiVo box that actually allows me to have TiVo instead of DVR with my service for like $5 a month. They don't even make those boxes anymore, so mine is a prized possession to be cherished. My hubby has a newer Direct TV account and since my contract long expired and his was still in effect, I agreed to let him move our Direct TV into his name and close my account. Then, one day I came home and my TiVo was gone! No advance warning so I could prepare myself. Just gone in a flash! Without so much as a heads up, he had installed his shiny new Direct TV with DVR box and packed my TiVo (with all my favorite shows) away in the garage. :(

So tonight, I am once again whining and complaining about how I set all of my shows to record on his DVR and none of them record as they are supposed to. Shows that I set to record only "first runs" are recording episode after episode of reruns. Other shows just won't record at all no matter what we do. But somehow his 12 episodes of Pants Off Dance Off and 9 episodes of Motor Gear have recorded just fine. So we spend about 2 hours trying to figure out why none of my shows will record, during which time I say, as I have said countless times, "I hate DVR. I like TiVo better." Only this time, my hubby says the weirdest thing in response. He says,

"If I had a nickel for every time you said you like TiVo better I would have a banana cream pie right now!"

In all the years I have known my hubby, I have never known him to buy a banana cream pie. And I know FOR A FACT that he has had enough money to buy one if he wanted to. So I am still scratching my head at the notion that if he had a nickel for every time I said I like TiVo better, he would have a banana cream pie.

I really like banana cream pie. So starting tomorrow, I am going to give him a nickel every time I say that I like TiVo better until he brings me home a banana cream pie. Does anybody know how many nickels it takes to buy a banana cream pie?
